Back in the day, you could "find good mixers at Hotel Niles". At least, that's what this vintage bar spoon says. In the 1950s, the Niles Hotel in Chadron, Nebraska was mostly occupied by work crews from the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. These hard workers could surely use a beverage at the end of a long day - and this combination bar spoon & bottle opener helped to deliver. The clever design was patent pending at the time; the spoon is marked "B & B St. Paul, Minn Des. Pat. Pdg."
